About The Project

This holistic renovation project was designed with the intent of recapitalizing a national treasure - the facility that houses a human centrifuge for High G tolerance testing. Situated within the Hangar compound at the Downsview Base in Toronto, ON, the structure serves as a training ground for aerospace specialists from around the world. Undergoing a transformative overhaul, the project included major mechanical & electrical upgrades as well as a complete exterior, interior, & envelope retrofit. The infrastructure now caters to the evolved demands of its stakeholders & users, including treatment rooms, classrooms, ultrasound labs, & pulmonary medical rooms. By joint venture of DRDC, DCC, DND, & CFEME, Building 54 has re-established itself as a leader in global aerospace training, standing at the pinnacle of resource offerings & cutting-edge technologies.

Public access & marketing of this project are limited due to the reliability status clearance requirements for the Ministry of Defense.
